An Arizona man is facing serious charges after he was released from prison and allegedly carjacked a man driving a truck carrying $1 M worth of Corvettes so he could use the vehicle to get home.
According to reports, on February 15, a 23-year-old man was released from prison and headed to the Willcox Loves Struck Stop in Willcox, Arizona. The newly freed individual saw a semi-truck carrying 10 new Chevrolet C8 Corvettes, and he approached the driver to make small talk about the luxury vehicles. Before long, the man allegedly yanked the driver out of the semi, hopped into the driver’s seat, and took off.
The authorities learned about the alleged theft, and shortly after, a deputy from the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department found the man driving the semi. The deputy noted that the vehicle was being driven unsafely as he tried to perform a traffic stop. The driver reportedly ignored the sirens and lights and kept driving.
