Teacher Arrested Over Inappropriate Student Contact

A Wisconsin teacher was arrested after the authorities accused her of engaging in inappropriate relationships with multiple students.

According to the authorities, the 22-year-old worked as a special education teacher at a high school in Eau Claire and is now facing several felony charges involving minors. Those charges reportedly included second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16, child enticement, and additional counts related to inappropriate contact between a school employee and students.

A criminal complaint stated that one of the students told investigators the teacher allegedly bought him a cellphone and began communicating with him through social media. The messages were described as inappropriate, and the student later told the authorities that the relationship became physical.

Investigators said the teacher admitted during an interview that she had contact with that student multiple times at her apartment. She reportedly told police she had grown close to him because he needed emotional support and described her actions as a mistake.

The authorities also alleged that she admitted to a separate relationship with another 16-year-old student. She reportedly claimed the interaction felt mutual.

According to the complaint, the teacher also acknowledged bringing two students and a third teenager to her apartment in March after they needed a ride. She allegedly provided them with alcohol at their request. Surveillance footage from the apartment building reportedly showed the group entering the residence on March 15 and leaving the following morning.

The teacher was arrested on March 25 and later appeared in court, where a cash bond was set. Jail records indicated she was released after posting bond.

School officials said she had been suspended without pay while the case remains under investigation. If convicted, she could face decades in prison along with significant fines.
