Virginia DJ Arrested for DUI and Obstructing Crime Scene

A reportedly intoxicated Virginia radio host was arrested after allegedly driving through a crime scene and arguing with law enforcement when they told him he was not allowed to be there.

According to reports, around 9:00 AM on June 4, a 43-year-old man who owns a skating rink and is known for his work as a morning show host on Virginia Beach’s Z104 WNVZ was driving a few feet from his business. At the same time, officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department were looking into an incident involving a shooting that occurred between a teenager and an officer that morning. The area was closed off while law enforcement conducted the investigation, but the man reportedly tried to drive through anyway. Things allegedly went south when he was informed that he would not be able to enter the zone.

It was reported that when the man was told he could not proceed, he began yelling and using foul language towards the officers. When they continued insisting that he would have to route around the scene, he reportedly insisted he was allowed because he was trying to get to the property he owns. The police reported that the man smelled like alcohol and was displaying several additional signs that caused them to believe he had been drinking.

Approximately one hour passed before the authorities gave the man a preliminary breath test, and the results showed a blood alcohol level of 0.18. The man was arrested and booked into the Norfolk County Jail. He is facing preliminary charges of DUI and obstruction of justice. He was released from custody after posting bond, and it was reported that he is still doing his radio show.
