A confrontation at a Philadelphia car wash reportedly ended with a vehicle crash and fire after a woman allegedly drove into a man, according to the authorities.
The woman, 27, was later taken into custody days after the incident. Court records reportedly showed she faced multiple charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and several related offenses. She was released after posting a $75,000 bond.
The incident happened on a Wednesday while a 42-year-old man was working at the car wash. He reportedly told a local news outlet that his former partner of several years arrived unexpectedly and approached him while he was on the job.
Video footage reviewed by reporters allegedly showed the two speaking before the situation escalated. At one point, the woman appeared to knock a drink from the man’s hand. The exchange quickly turned physical, with both individuals reportedly striking each other before falling to the ground. Several people nearby were seen moving toward them as the situation unfolded.
After separating, the woman allegedly went to her vehicle and then approached the man’s car. She was reportedly seen using a hammer to damage it. The man then ran toward her, took the tool, and struck her vehicle. She backed away, creating some distance between them.
Moments later, the woman allegedly accelerated her car and drove directly into the man. The impact reportedly pushed both him and the vehicle into a nearby wall, causing significant damage and shattering the windshield.
Following the crash, the vehicle caught fire, sending smoke into the air. Witnesses were seen pulling the injured man away from the scene while another person tried to restrain the woman before she left.
The man was reportedly taken to a hospital with neck and leg injuries.
