Woman Fights Off Alleged Pimp in Attempted Assault

A woman in San Francisco who was walking to her residence escaped from a man who called himself a pimp when she was reportedly grabbed by him in a purported attempt to force her into prostitution.

Just after 10:00 PM on May 30, a woman was heading for her San Francisco home on foot when she was reportedly approached by a man she did not know. He allegedly identified himself as a pimp. Additionally, he reportedly told her he had a gun and would not hesitate to use it if she did not cooperate. According to the woman’s statement, the alleged assailant grabbed her breasts and tried to touch her privates during the encounter.

Events took a turn when the alleged victim fought back and struck the suspect with an energy drink can, and she began physically attacking him until he fled. The authorities were notified, and they opened an investigation. The woman assisted by identifying the individual she believed was responsible.

When the police located the man, he was taken into custody and booked into the Santa Rita Jail. He is facing preliminary charges of felony sexual battery by restraint, felony assault with the intention to commit a sex crime, and a felony count of criminal threats. He is currently being held in lieu of a $100,000 bail. On July 10, he has a court date scheduled at the East County Hall of Justice.

The suspect has maintained that he is innocent of the accusations, and his attorney filed a motion with the court to try to show that the alleged victim was too traumatized during the incident to be able to accurately identify the person who attacked her.
