Woman Threw “First Date” Brick Through Ex’s Window

A woman in Southwestern Florida was arrested after allegedly throwing a memento from the first date she went on with her now ex-husband through the window at his residence when he did not answer the door for her.

Approximately 6 months ago, a 34-year-old woman and ex reportedly ended their relationship, allegedly resulting in her moving out of their home in Bonita Springs. It was reported that she showed up at the residence late in the evening on January 24. When she knocked on the door, the man, who later told the police he was asleep, did not answer. The woman allegedly responded by throwing an object through the living room window, and he was reportedly awakened by the sound of the shattering glass.

The authorities were notified, and Lee County sheriff’s deputies showed up to investigate the report. The woman was still in front of the house when they arrived, and she reportedly told them she was banging on the door because she lived there and was trying to get the man to let her in. When they talked to her ex, he said the woman no longer resided in the house. The deputies noted that there was no women’s clothing in the home, and they were not provided proof that it was her legal mailing address. They reported that they found a brick with the former couple’s name and the date of their first outing etched into it and presumed it was the object used to break the window.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Lee County Jail. She is facing preliminary charges of criminal mischief and throwing a deadly missile into an occupied dwelling. On January 26, she was released after she posted a $7,500 bond.
