Woman’s In-Store Fart Incited Deadly Weapon Charge

A man that took issue with a fellow shopper who had passed gas near him reportedly feared that he was going to get stabbed when the woman threatened him with a knife.

On Sunday evening, 55-year-old John Walker went shopping at a Dania Beach Dollar General store and had an unpleasant encounter with a woman while standing in line.

The woman, alleged to be 37-year-old Shanetta Yvette Wilson, was standing in proximity of Walker when she farted, and Walker expressed his discontent with her. After an exchange of heated words, Wilson allegedly pulled a small knife out of her purse and threatened to “gut” Walker, according to the affidavit.

Wilson reportedly left the store on foot, and the authorities found her not far from the location that the alleged incident took place. She was taken back to the Dollar General to see if she was recognized as the purported offender.

Walker, who said that he wasn’t harmed, but that he was “just shaken up” because he thought he may have been in physical danger, identified Wilson as the woman that he believed had pulled the knife on him.

Wilson was booked into Paul Rein Detention Facility for suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill.

In order for Wilson to be released from custody, it was ordered that she must pay $2500 bond, in addition to wearing an ankle monitor. She would also be prohibited from leaving her home between the hours of 7:00 pm until 6:00 am.
