A Las Vegas convenience store clerk was recently arrested for allegedly attacking a man with a baseball bat over putting too much cheese on his nachos.
A passerby, while pumping gas, noticed a man lying on the sidewalk covered in blood. The individual asked the store clerk to call 911, but the clerk reportedly refused.
When officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived on the scene, they found the victim with his face covered in blood. The man was disoriented and unable to recall what had happened. He was quickly transported to the hospital by ambulance. Medical professionals reported that the man had sustained life-threatening injuries, including two brain bleeds, multiple skull fractures, and several broken facial bones.
According to the arrest report, the incident began when the victim allegedly took too much nacho cheese from the store’s dispenser. The clerk reportedly got upset by this, asked the man to leave, and warned him not to damage anything in the store. The man walked out, but he returned a few minutes later, insisting that he wanted his nachos. The situation escalated, and the clerk allegedly pushed the man out of the store and began hitting him with a baseball bat.
Upon being taken into custody, the clerk reportedly said that the victim “started talking s***.” He allegedly admitted to hitting the man twice, including once in the head. When surveillance footage from inside the store was reviewed, it revealed that the clerk struck the man multiple times.
He was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond. He is facing preliminary charges of attempted murder and battery with a deadly weapon.
