Man and Goat Kidnapped During Carjacking

A vehicle parked outside of an adult shop was reportedly stolen by a suspect who allegedly held the passenger who had his goat along for the trip at gunpoint as he drove through three states.

Early in the morning on New Year’s Day, a man, his passenger, and the passenger’s goat headed out to a local adult shop in Carthage, Missouri, in the driver’s truck.

The driver parked and entered the establishment while the passenger, who decided to take a snooze while waiting, and his goat remained in the vehicle.

When the man woke up, he reportedly discovered he was being held at gunpoint by a person that was concealing their face with a mask.

The alleged victim reported that the suspected car thief hit him with the gun and made threats against him as the stolen vehicle was navigated over 130-miles through Missouri and Kansas, and into Oklahoma. The driver additionally allegedly used methamphetamine during the reportedly forced journey.

When the suspect released the man and his goat from the truck in Oklahoma, the alleged victim called the authorities for help and reported what he had been through.

With the assistance of OnStar, deputies were able to find the general location of the truck, and OnStar implemented a feature of their service that hindered the vehicle by preventing it from traveling over 15 MPH.

When they caught up to the suspect he reportedly continued driving, even after the tires were deflated with tactical equipment, until he was run into a roadside ditch.

The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Brandon Kirby, allegedly took off running and forced the deputies to chase him.

When he was detained a short distance from the location where the truck was left, Kirby was placed under arrest for charges of kidnapping, pointing a firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
