Sources report that a violent incident occurred last month at a roller skating rink in Glendale, Arizona, where a woman was allegedly attacked by another woman believed to be connected to a former romantic relationship.
According to police records, the incident reportedly happened on January 25 while the alleged victim was inside the rink socializing with others. Investigators say the suspect approached the victim from behind while holding roller skates and struck her in the head, causing her to fall to the ground. Authorities report the assault continued as the victim was on the floor.
The alleged victim later told police she believed the attack was motivated by jealousy related to her friendship with the suspect’s former boyfriend. Sources report that the woman documented her injuries and shared photographs with investigators. Those injuries allegedly included facial bruising, swelling, black eyes, a concussion, and dental damage involving chipped and broken teeth.
Surveillance footage from inside the roller rink allegedly shows the suspect holding a roller skate in each hand before swinging one at the victim. Police say the video supports the victim’s account of the incident. Investigators also report that after the attack, the suspect allegedly contacted the victim through social media and posted messages describing what happened. Authorities say those communications appeared to indicate the assault was intentional.
Police reported that the victim was able to identify the suspect through social media activity and surveillance footage. When officers later located the suspect, she reportedly denied involvement and then allegedly attempted to flee before being taken into custody.
Sources say that after her arrest, the suspect allegedly damaged property inside a police interview room and resisted officers during the booking process.
The woman may face charges of aggravated assault, destruction of public property, and resisting arrest. Authorities say she remains in custody on a bond totaling more than $150,000.
