Chicago Officer Peed in Ice Machine at Florida Bar

An officer from Illinois was on vacation in Florida when a staff member at a hotel allegedly caught him urinating inside an ice machine intended for use by the guests.

Late in the evening on December 4, a man later identified as a Chicago police officer was hanging out with his girlfriend at Jimmy B’s Beach Bar. The couple was on vacation in St. Petersburg.

Just after midnight, the man reportedly went inside Jimmy B’s and walked up to the ice machine.

One of the employees from the bar walked over to the machine. They reported that they saw the officer peeing on the ice. The worker told him to stop, but the man allegedly became angry and abusive in response.

According to reports, the officer yelled and used foul language. The man reportedly pushed the employee a few times. When a security guard approached, he allegedly pushed him as well.

The authorities were notified about the situation, and deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office went to the bar to investigate the report.

The alleged suspect was no longer inside the bar, but the security guard and the employee brought the police to the place where the man and his girlfriend were sitting on the beach in front of the establishment.

When the police approached the couple, they talked to the man about the incident, and it was reported that he began to resist their attempts to detain him.

According to the arrest report, “The defendant continued to yell and kept standing when told to sit multiple times by law enforcement.”

The suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of battery and disorderly conduct.
