Couple Arrested for Assault when Claiming They Were Assaulted

A man and woman refusing to wear face masks said a bakery owner assaulted them, but police saw the video of the incident and arrested them for assault instead.

Scott Collin and Amy Hall are from Portland, Oregon.

Last week, Collin and Hall reportedly went to Eugene. While they were there, they allegedly visited Crumb Together Cookies & Coffee.

When they entered the establishment, Collin was reportedly recording video, and the pair were not wearing face masks.

The owner noticed the people, and she let them know that they would not be given service without wearing face masks. She cited the Oregon state mandate that masks are to be worn in all indoor spaces where social distancing is unable to be practiced.

She asked them to depart from her store and when she walked near them the owner said that Hall threatened that she better not touch her.

Hall can reportedly be seen in the video, which has gone viral on social media, as she pushes the store owner. The man was trying to tell the owner that the federal law says she must serve them, but the owner said it did not.

After being unsuccessful in getting Collin and Hall to depart and then being pushed, the owner retrieved a baseball bat from behind the counter.

When the store owner tried to force them to leave the store, the woman was seen in the video being assaulted by Collin and Hall. The assault lasted a few minutes, and Collin yelled at the owner, saying she was the one who assaulted them.

Collin and Hall tracked down an officer and shared their claims about the bakery owner assaulting them.

After the police saw the footage of the incident, they determined that Collin and Hall were at fault for the situation.

Collin and Hall were both placed under arrest. They are both accused of assault.
