Authorities investigated an alleged assault involving a juvenile in Deltona, Florida, that resulted in the arrest of two adults and allegations that weapons were used during the confrontation.
According to investigators, the incident began when a teenager drove a girl home after she had reportedly been away overnight. The situation allegedly escalated after the girl’s mother and stepfather believed the driver was an adult.
The alleged victim later told the authorities that he was unable to leave after a vehicle was positioned behind his car, blocking his exit. After the confrontation ended, the alleged victim was able to leave the area and contact family members. His mother notified the authorities and expressed a desire to press charges. Investigators reportedly found approximately $4,000 damage to the vehicle that was consistent with the allegation.
Investigators learned that the couple had contacted law enforcement before the alleged victim reported the incident. However, according to authorities, they did not disclose details about the alleged confrontation when speaking with dispatchers.
Following the investigation, the mother and stepfather were arrested. Both were booked into jail and held without bond. The woman was charged with aggravated child abuse and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The man was charged with aggravated child abuse, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and criminal mischief.
