According to court documents, investigators searched the home on June 17 after completing a drug investigation that had been underway for several months. During the search, authorities reportedly located digital scales containing white residue, dishes with residue, opened boxes of sandwich baggies, and cleaning product containers that had been hollowed out and used to conceal narcotics.
Investigators also found an empty box of baking soda, which they believed may have been used to make crack cocaine. Authorities said the search resulted in the seizure of approximately 16.94 grams of cocaine and 44.17 grams of crack cocaine.
According to court documents, agents began investigating the man in April after receiving information about suspected crack cocaine and methamphetamine sales. The investigation eventually resulted in the authorities serving search and arrest warrants.
As part of the investigation, the authorities reportedly used a confidential source to conduct two controlled purchases. Court records stated that the source met with investigators before each transaction and was provided with money, instructions, and recording equipment. During the purchases, the source allegedly exchanged the provided funds for an off-white substance believed to be crack cocaine. The quantities involved in each transaction were reportedly over two grams but less than 10 grams.
Before the search warrant was executed, investigators conducted surveillance at the residence. According to court documents, they observed the man leave the home, lock the door behind him, and drive away. He was later taken into custody following a traffic stop.
The man was charged with manufacture of cocaine, two counts of possession of methamphetamine or cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of delivery of methamphetamine or cocaine. He was booked into the county detention center on a $250,000 cash/surety bond and was later released after the bond was reduced to $150,000.
