When a couple who connected on a dating app met for the first time, the man reportedly hit the woman with his car after she denied him when he allegedly asked if he could smell her feet.
Recently, two people who got acquainted online decided to meet in person, and things reportedly took an unexpectedly violent turn. According to reports, it began when a 28-year-old man from Aventura, Florida, started talking to a woman on the Seeking dating app. The woman is a foot model, and the man, who is reportedly sexually attracted to feet, expressed an interest in buying a used pair of her shoes. She agreed to his request, and they decided on a time and place to meet.
On the afternoon of August 24, the man waited for the woman in a room at the Serena Hotel. When she arrived, she left the pair of shoes in the car and headed to the suite. After they met, the woman let the potential buyer know the cost of the used shoes was $1,000. In addition to wanting the footwear, the man allegedly asked if she would allow him to sniff her feet. She said no, and when her back was turned, he reportedly fled from the room, causing her to believe he might have stolen something from her. The woman chased him, and when they were in the parking garage, he allegedly struck her with his vehicle.
The suspect, who has been involved in several prior incidents of a similar nature, was taken into custody and booked into Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Center. He is facing a preliminary charge of aggravated battery. According to records, he has since been released on bond from the facility.
The alleged victim was bruised all over her body, and she was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening medical attention.
