36-year-old James Colamaria is from Plainville, and 27-year-old Darieal Haskins hails from Boston. The pair reportedly share a residence in a new luxury apartment complex in Seaport.
Colamaria and Haskins reportedly had active warrants out for their arrest.
The Boston Police Department and the federal DEA often work together, and they reported that they began to keep an eye on them.
On the evening of August 2, the authorities were posted outside of the new and elegant “NEMA Boston” apartments.
The police reported that they saw Colamaria walking a dog outside of the building.
When officers approached, the man asked if they would talk to him about the situation at an apartment purported to be his and Haskins’ shared residence.
They agreed to accompany the man to a dwelling on the sixth floor.
When they reached the door, Haskins reportedly initially did not want to let the authorities in.
The door was opened enough for the police to see inside the apartment, and they allegedly saw a bag that they believed contained a large amount of methamphetamine.
A search warrant was obtained.
According to the Boston Police Department news, the officers reportedly found that the bag weighed two and a half pounds. They additionally found more than 100 pills they believed were Xanax. It was noted that $2,700 was also found and included as evidence of illegal activity.
Colamaria and Haskins were both taken into custody. They are each facing charges for suspicion of trafficking methamphetamine, and possession of Oxycodone with intent to distribute.
