Five Suspects Facing 50 Charges After Drug Raid

Five suspects from Ontario are each facing an immense number of charges after a special police force found them with hundreds of thousands of dollars, nearly $400,000 in drugs, and illegal firearms.

The Thunder Bay Police Service Intelligence Unit was working on an investigation into the possibility of a drug trafficking situation taking place in two homes in the same area. They believed five suspects were working together.

On the evening of May 10, law enforcement dispatched to the residences and allegedly recovered a sizeable stash of fentanyl, cocaine, Oxycodone, and Alprazolam, in addition to around $370,000. Firearms and ammunition were also located in the homes.

All five suspects were arrested and charged with multiple infractions.

A 28-year-old Ontario resident is facing charges of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of Oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking, possession of Alprazolam for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, careless use of a firearm, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, and possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.

The second suspect, an 18-year-old from Oakville, is suspected of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, careless use of a firearm, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, and failure to comply with sentence.

A 49-year-old from Thunder Bay is charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, careless use of a firearm, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, and possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.

A 24-year-old suspect, also from Thunder Bay, has been accused of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of Oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking, possession of Alprazolam for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, careless use of a firearm, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm,

A fifth suspect, an 18-year-old from Oakville is expected to face charges of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, careless use of a firearm, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, and possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.
