The authorities arrested a suspect who allegedly stole a party bus limousine in San Diego and evaded police until she reached Southeast Antelope Valley and crashed into a vehicle.
Late in the morning on February 22, the driver of a 40-foot party bus limousine from the San Diego Top Dog Limo Bus Inc. was picking up a passenger. They left the engine running while they got out and retrieved the client.
At approximately 10:30 am, someone reportedly stole the vehicle while it was idling at the residence.
The alleged thief drove the party bus onto the 405 Freeway, and they were reportedly driving erratically and over the speed limit.
Another driver on the freeway called the number posted on the bus and got in touch with Top Dog. They reported that the driver of the bus was going at least 90 MPH.
The authorities were notified, and within an hour and a half of the report the California Highway Patrol tracked down the allegedly stolen vehicle in West Los Angeles. An officer tried to perform a traffic stop, but the driver sped away.
Additional law enforcement joined the pursuit of the party bus, and they followed the vehicle as it was driven down several freeways. Additional tactics, such as a spike strip, were employed, but the driver was able to avoid them.
Approximately an hour and a half later, the high-speed chase concluded when the driver of the party bus was driving down a highway in Antelope Valley and slammed into a car.
The driver of the car was treated for their injuries by paramedics at the scene, and the driver of the party bus was identified as 44-year-old Melissa Danielle Jackson.
Jackson was placed under arrest and taken to the Palmdale Sheriff’s Office. It is expected that she will face charges of auto theft and evading arrest.
