Homeless Man Invited into Family’s House Offered Sex to Child

A homeless man who was offered shelter during a storm by a mother of four when she brought him into her home was accused of lewd behavior by allegedly trying to suggest that her teenage daughter should allow him to pay her for sex.

When a North Carolina mother saw a homeless man, identified as 56-year-old Leonard Dale Dover, stuck outside in the heavy rains she invited him into her family home for a place to wait out the bad weather.

While Dover was inside of the house the woman made a quick run to the local Walmart to pick up a few items. Her 13-year-old daughter was home while Dover was there, and while her mother was absent she said that he tried to give her money in exchange for sex and that he masturbated in front of her. The girl reportedly caught some of his behavior on video with her cell phone’s camera.

When the woman returned home from the store and her daughter told her the account of what happened her mother notified the authorities. Police watched the footage that the teenager captured and believed that the man in the video was Dover, and they placed him under arrest for the allegations.

Dover was booked into the York County Detention Center where he was charged with attempted criminal sexual misconduct with a minor under the age of 16, and he is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
