Man Attacked Pregnant Woman in Dunkin’ Drive Thru

A man was arrested in Connecticut after allegedly entering a drive-thru in a stolen vehicle and ditching it before reportedly trying to steal the car of a pregnant woman who was waiting for her food.

On the evening of September 30, the authorities received a call about an ongoing situation at a local Dunkin’. Officers from the East Haven Police Department, in addition to East Haven Fire Department medics, went to the address. When they got there, they found two of the donut shop’s employees holding a man on the ground outside the store.

The police reported that they learned that the man on the ground had pulled into the drive-thru in a Hyundai Elantra, which was later identified as a vehicle that had been reported stolen. A pregnant woman was in front of him in line, and he allegedly got out of the Hyundai and entered her vehicle. When she would not give him her keys, the man reportedly started to punch her. She got out of the car and went into the store, and the workers ran outside to keep the suspect there until the police arrived. It was reported that the suspect was wounded during the incident, and he allegedly bit a paramedic who was trying to tend to him.

The 28-year-old man, who has active arrest warrants totaling $450,000, was taken into custody. He is facing preliminary charges of breach of peace, assault on emergency medical personnel, robbery, reckless endangerment, assault on a pregnant person, assault, interfering with an officer, and two counts of car theft. It was reported that a judge ordered that he would be held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
