Man Holding Marijuana Found Napping in Underwear on I-95

A man from Virginia is facing charges after a Florida officer allegedly found him napping in his underpants inside his vehicle, which reportedly contained marijuana, on the side of the Interstate.

Just before midnight on September 14, a Highway Patrol officer saw a car parked on the side of the road on Interstate 95 with the emergency flashers turned on.

As the officer approached the vehicle it was reported that the man inside was asleep and wearing nothing but a pair of underwear.

When the driver woke up and spoke with the trooper he allegedly said that he was on his way to Miami when he felt like he needed to sleep. When asked to present his driver’s license, the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Ahmed Mohamed, reportedly proclaimed that he was a doctor and offered his school identification card instead. Upon further investigation, the officer reported that Mohamed’s license had been suspended.

The smell of marijuana was allegedly detected and the officer reportedly found a joint and a small amount of pot in addition to drug paraphernalia in the car. Mohamed allegedly disclosed that he had been smoking earlier that day.

When the officer asked Mohamed why he was only wearing his underpants he was said to have explained that he pulled the rest of his clothing off when he became too hot while he was trying to sleep.

After performing a roadside sobriety test Mohamed was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, knowingly operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
