A man in Central Pennsylvania suffered injuries after his girlfriend allegedly sliced his throat and hands because he refused her demands to provide her with anti-anxiety medication.
Early in the morning on October 5, a man was asleep in the bed he shared with his girlfriend when she abruptly woke him up. When he opened his eyes, she was allegedly standing next to him with a knife in her hand and was holding it against his throat. According to reports, the man takes a prescription drug for anxiety, and he had shared them with her in the past. The woman reportedly demanded he give her more of his Klonopin, and allegedly threatened his life. Before he was able to get the knife away from her, she reportedly cut him by dragging the blade across his neck.
It was reported that after the man took the knife, his girlfriend got a different one and continued assaulting him. He calmed her down and called 911, and officers from the Altoona Police Department went to the residence. When they arrived, they reported that they found a knife that they believed was used during the incident. They also noted that there were drops of what they thought was fresh blood dotting the kitchen floor and the walls in one of the hallways.
The woman, who allegedly admitted she used the knife on the man because of a dispute about the Klonopin, was taken into custody and booked into the Blair County Prison. She is facing preliminary charges of felony criminal attempted homicide, felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor possession of instruments of a crime, misdemeanor terroristic threats, misdemeanor reckless endangerment, and misdemeanor simple assault. She is currently being held in lieu of a $100,000 bail.
