Man’s Truck Flips Five Times After Granting Jesus Permission to Drive

A Tennessee man was accused of driving under the influence on Saturday when his truck flipped five times. The man explained that he had allowed Jesus to take the wheel when the accident occurred.

When 33-year-old Chad England was driving his truck down the Interstate in Sullivan County, Tennessee, during the morning of January 20 he reported that Jesus appeared to him and advised him to allow Him to take over driving. England’s truck rolled a total of five times as a result.

When Sullivan County deputies responded to the scene of the accident they allegedly spotted England carrying a jar as he was running away from the truck. It was assumed that England was under the influence of narcotics. He explained to the deputies that he was not fleeing the scene, but that he was traveling to a destination that he was called to in order to bow before someone. He also disclosed that while he was sitting in the driver’s seat he was not operating the vehicle.

Deputies searched England’s truck and allegedly found six grams of marijuana, 0.6 grams of cocaine, a pipe, rolling papers, an opened and partially empty bottle of Crown Royal, and a smaller empty bottle of Crown Royal. They also found cans that they believe were for “huffing,” which is defined as the process of inhaling vapors in order to achieve intoxication.

England was taken into custody, and the incident report states that he was “speaking gibberish” as he was placed into the police car. He refused to consent to a blood test, and after a medical clearance exam was performed at a local hospital he was taken to Sullivan County Jail.

England has been charged with DUI first offense, felony possession of schedule II for resale, possession of schedule VI, and possession of paraphernalia, open container, no driver’s license in possession, failure to exercise due care, no registration in possession, violation of implied consent, and no insurance in possession.
