The Los Angeles County District Attorney has decided to file felony domestic violence and resisting arrest charges against former American mixed martial arts fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller.
40-year-old Jason “Mayhem” Miller has been a part of the MMA scene since he was 17-years-old. He has a well-known association with the Strikeforce organization.
It is reported that Miller retired from fighting in 2016.
Since 2011, Miller has been involved in over a dozen criminal cases for a variety of infractions.
Early in the morning last week, Miller and a female reported to be his girlfriend were at a residence in San Fernando Valley, and the pair allegedly had an altercation.
The woman involved in the situation called the authorities for help, and it was reported that she was screaming while she was on the phone.
When the police arrived, they noted that the woman had scratches on her face and neck, and she jumped out of a window to get away from Miller.
Miller was reportedly discovered inside a bathroom in the home. The man allegedly locked himself in, and he refused to come out to interact with the officers.
The police reportedly busted down the door to apprehend Miller. They accused him of resisting to the point that they had to employ a Taser.
Miller, who has prior domestic violence charges on his record, was arrested and booked into the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Jail on an initial $1.385 million bail. The amount was later lowered to $150,000. It is reported that he remains in jail.
It is reported that Miller has pleaded not guilty to the charges, for which he could face a hefty prison sentence if he is convicted.
