A California woman accused of making and sharing pornographic videos of the youngster she was hired to take care of was arrested on new charges for allegations that she also molested the girl.
On September 21, the Contra Costa County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a report from a social media company informing them that images that depicted the sexual abuse of a baby girl were uploaded to their server.
According to reports, the police discovered that the suspect was a woman from Antioch who was a part-time nanny to the 8-month-old girl in the images.
On September 22, the authorities searched the woman’s residence and found the equipment they believed was used to capture the images of the youngster. When they spoke to the suspect, she allegedly confessed to the claims and said she sent the images to a man. She allegedly said it was a one-time occurrence.
The woman was taken into custody on suspicion of seven felony counts of production and distribution of child pornography. She was held in lieu of a $700,000 bond.
The investigation continued, and the authorities allegedly discovered material indicating that the woman sexually abused the girl at the request of the man she allegedly shared the images with.
On September 27, she was arrested by officers from the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office on three counts of child molestation of a victim younger than 10 and one count of using a minor for sex acts. According to jail records, she is currently housed in the West County Detention Center. The new allegations caused her bond to be raised to $3.4 M.
It was reported that the man they believe was involved in the situation has not been identified.
