Oklahoma Teen Caught After 5-Month Burglary Streak

A 19-year-old man in Central Oklahoma wanted on suspicion of rape and multiple burglaries was arrested after being caught in the act of reportedly trying to break into another residence.

According to reports, in September 2024, the police received notification about a possible home invasion that happened in a residential neighborhood in the city of Norman. A burglary in the same area was reported in December, and in January, the authorities were contacted by several additional individuals with similar stories. It was noted that all of the homes that were targeted were within a two-mile radius, the suspect waited until late at night to enter the dwellings, and several of the residents were at home and in their bedrooms when the individual broke in. None of the callers reported injuries until a woman notified the police to tell them that a stranger entered her residence and raped her. She said she woke up with an individual on top of her who fled from her home when she looked him in the eye.

On January 29, the police received a call from a resident who said a man was trying to break into their home. When they arrived, the police caught him after a short chase.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center. The man is facing multiple charges including nine counts of first-degree burglary, four counts of third-degree attempted burglary, one count of first-degree rape, one count of second-degree burglary, and two counts of obstructing an officer. According to facility records, he is currently being held in lieu of a $1,000,000 bond. If he is released, he will be required to wear a GPS ankle monitor at all times.
