Pennsylvania Man Robbed Card Shop to buy Halloween Decorations

A suspect is facing many charges after allegedly robbing an Altoona card shop that he frequented two decades ago.

51-year-old Jayson Hodges is from Trafford, Pennsylvania.

About 20 years ago, Hodges went to the Juniata Cards shop in Altoona. The man reportedly said he remembered the name of the owner.

Last Tuesday, Juniata Cards was the target of a robbery.

The authorities were notified, and the owners reported that the suspect had a pistol and forced them to go into a bathroom in the store. The man allegedly stole money from the cash register, and boxes of trading cards before fleeing.

An investigation was opened to try to find the culprit of the reported theft.

The authorities collected a description of the suspect, and they were given the security footage from the time of the alleged armed robbery.

It was asserted that Hodges was the person they were seeking, and the police obtained a search warrant for his residence.

When they arrived at the home, the police said Hodges was on the rooftop wearing clothes that matched the ones the suspect in the video had on.

Hodges reportedly saw the authorities and tried to leave the area on his bicycle, but he was immediately caught.

The man reportedly willingly gave a statement to the police and said he did rob the store. He reportedly said he went there about 20 years ago. He allegedly used some of the cash he took to buy decorations for Halloween.

Hodges was taken into custody. He is facing charges for suspicion of felony robbery, persons not to possess a firearm, carrying an unlicensed firearm, receiving stolen property, unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault, false imprisonment, recklessly endangerment, tampering with evidence, and retail theft.

He is being held in the Blair County Prison on $400,000 bail.

Neither of the alleged victims was reported as being harmed during the incident.
