When two roommates in Kentucky got into a fight over who ate the last Hot Pocket, it resulted in an arrest after the snack swiper was reportedly shot in the buttocks by the other party.
On May 20, at approximately 8:45 PM, a 64-year-old man and his roommate got into a dispute in their Louisville residence.
According to reports, the squabble began when the man became angry and accused his roommate of eating the last Hot Pocket.
The situation escalated, and the Hot Pocket-deprived man reportedly started hurling tiles at his roommate. His roommate reportedly responded by physically assaulting him in an attempt to “beat his ass,” as noted in the affidavit.
Shortly after, both men stepped outside when the alleged Hot Pocket thief decided he would leave home for the time being. It was reported that as he began to walk away, his roommate allegedly went inside and grabbed a gun.
When the man who was leaving saw the weapon, he began trying to convince his roommate not to shoot him with it.
Despite his pleading, the man allegedly pulled the trigger while aiming at him, and the bullet struck him in the buttocks.
The alleged victim notified the authorities from a neighbor’s home, and the Louisville Metro Police Department dispatched officers to investigate.
According to the uniform citation, the suspect was taken into custody around 1:00 AM on May 21. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail, and he is expected to face one felony count of second-degree assault.
It was noted in the police report that the authorities believe the alleged shooter was drinking alcohol at the time of the incident. The man was incarcerated on a $7,500 bond.
