When country singer Sarah Evans was leaving a party last weekend, her husband allegedly tried to strike her and another person with an automobile.
50-year-old Sarah Evans is a country singer. She has been married to 49-year-old Jay Barker, who used to be the quarterback for the University of Alabama football team. The couple has been married for approximately 14 years. It was reported that Evans recently filed for divorce, and the pair do not reside together.
On January 15, Evans went to a party at a friend’s home.
When she left the engagement, Evans walked to a vehicle parked outside and she was accompanied by another person.
Evans and the other party drove to a residence close by. The pair parked in the driveway and got out of the car.
According to reports, Barker was also outside the home, but in a separate vehicle. The man allegedly put the car in reverse and accelerated until he reached “a high rate of speed.” Barker reportedly nearly hit Evans and her companion, but he was ultimately unsuccessful in his alleged attempt.
It was reported that Barker drove off, and Evans notified the authorities.
The police spoke to Evans and the other alleged victim.
Although Evans was not present, a while later, the man drove past the house where the incident took place, and the police interacted with him.
Barker was placed under arrest and booked into the Davidson County Jail. He is facing a charge of one count of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was held for 12 hours due to the crime being considered domestic violence, and he was released after paying a $10,000 bond.
