An allegedly intoxicated woman from Eastern Iowa is facing multiple charges after reportedly asking several gas station patrons to help her bypass her Interlock device by breathing in it for her.

According to reports, on Independence Day, a woman was parked outside a Kwik Star convenience store and gas station in North Liberty. The driver, who was later found to have been convicted three times in the past 12 years for operating a vehicle while under the influence, had an Interlock device in the car. She allegedly went up to multiple customers and asked if they would help her start her car by blowing into the machine for her.

When the authorities were alerted about the situation, officers from the North Liberty Police Department headed to the business to see what was going on. When they got there, they reported that the woman was sitting in the car with he engine running. When the officers talked to her, they believed she smelled like she had been drinking. The woman told them she did not consume alcohol, and she took a roadside sobriety test. According to reports, she completed all but two of the tasks, but the police still asserted that she appeared to be intoxicated while she did them. When the woman was tested, the results reportedly gave a result of .351 BAC, which is more than four times the legal limit of .08 BAC.
