Police in South Carolina arrested a man after a domestic situation turned violent when his wife tried to keep him from getting behind the wheel while he was allegedly intoxicated.

Officers went to the couple’s neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon after receiving a call that a woman had gone to a nearby home. When the police spoke with her, she explained that the argument had begun earlier in the day over something small. She reported that her husband had been drinking, and tensions rose after she smoked the last of his cigarettes. She said he became upset and announced he was going out to buy more, despite her belief that he was intoxicated. She added that she thought he might hurt himself or someone else if he drove, so she grabbed his car keys and tried to stop him from leaving.

According to reports, they struggled, and the situation escalated quickly. The man’s wife told officers he hit her in the face, leaving her nose bleeding, and lunged at her several times before she fled to the neighbor’s house. She also mentioned that she had ongoing concerns about his health and drinking habits, saying her efforts to encourage him to get treatment often caused friction between them.

A Florida woman was arrested after allegedly shooting into her housemate’s bedroom multiple times during a dispute over who had control over the residence.

According to reports, on the evening of April 27, a man returned to the Miami home he shares with a 59-year-old woman and overheard part of her conversation while she was outside talking to someone. He believed she was telling the individual that she was the person who ran their home, and her claim angered him. He stopped on his way inside to tell her she was wrong and then went to his room. His housemate allegedly went inside and spat at him, and he responded by shoving her. The woman reportedly proceeded to grab a revolver from her bedroom before heading to his room and knocking on the door.

The situation intensified when she allegedly shot into the man’s room at least four times, and he stayed on the floor to protect himself. He called the authorities, and officers from the Miami Police Department went to the residence to see what was going on. The man provided the police with an account of his version of the events, and when the woman told them she did not shoot a gun into the room, she showed them that there were no bullet holes in the door.
