The authorities in New Jersey announced the arrests of 13 residents accused of taking part in an alleged human trafficking and drug distribution operation that investigators said had been active across several counties since early 2025.
According to court documents, the investigation was led by the New Jersey State Police Human Trafficking Unit and focused on activity in Middlesex, Ocean, Camden, and Burlington counties. The case allegedly involved commercial sex operations run out of multiple hotels in Central and South Jersey.
On May 7, the authorities executed search warrants at several hotels and residences. Investigators said they recovered about 15 alleged victims during those searches. Officials also seized suspected narcotics, cash, and drug-related items tied to the operation.
