13 Arrested in New Jersey Trafficking Case

The authorities in New Jersey announced the arrests of 13 residents accused of taking part in an alleged human trafficking and drug distribution operation that investigators said had been active across several counties since early 2025.

According to court documents, the investigation was led by the New Jersey State Police Human Trafficking Unit and focused on activity in Middlesex, Ocean, Camden, and Burlington counties. The case allegedly involved commercial sex operations run out of multiple hotels in Central and South Jersey.

On May 7, the authorities executed search warrants at several hotels and residences. Investigators said they recovered about 15 alleged victims during those searches. Officials also seized suspected narcotics, cash, and drug-related items tied to the operation.

One hotel room allegedly connected to the investigation contained about 7.79 ounces of suspected crack cocaine, five ounces of fentanyl, 3.77 ounces of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and roughly $5,000 in cash. Investigators claimed the drugs were prepared and packaged for distribution from hotel locations tied to the enterprise.

According to prosecutors, two alleged leaders operated separate sections of the organization from hotels in different parts of South Jersey. The men allegedly controlled women who engaged in commercial sex acts and were required to turn over the money they earned. In return, investigators said the women were allegedly provided lodging, transportation, food, drugs, and other necessities.

The authorities also alleged the organization used websites to advertise commercial sex services online. Investigators claimed victims were pressured into creating and posting advertisements for themselves. Some victims were also allegedly expected to provide drugs to clients who requested them.

Several additional suspects were accused of acting as managers, handling money, arranging transportation, enforcing rules within the operation, photographing victims, or supplying cocaine. One suspect allegedly possessed two handguns and a ghost gun rifle at the time of arrest, while another allegedly had a handgun during his arrest.

The defendants face charges including racketeering, conspiracy, human trafficking, and drug offenses.
