A man in Delaware is facing a multitude of charges after he was accused of going on a theft spree for several months and taking over $$36,000 worth of merchandise from retailers.

During a period spanning from mid-March until early August, multiple stores in New Castle County began reporting thefts that sounded like they might have been committed by the same suspect. The authorities were notified about missing merchandise from stores such as ACME, Best Buy, Burlington, Cabela’s, Lowe’s, several Marshalls and Old Navy stores, New Balance, Nordstrom Rack, Staples, T. J. Maxx, and a few establishments that specialize in children’s clothing and items. When the police began investigating, they reported at least 20 different thefts, and the missing merchandise was valued at more than $36,000.

After digging deeper, the police reportedly found that there was one main suspect, and he had different people assisting with the alleged shoplifting. On August 8, while at a Ross store that reported being robbed, the man they believed was the suspect was seen in the vicinity. He was reportedly a passenger in a vehicle with two other people. The car was searched, and items that looked like some of the merchandise that was reported stolen were allegedly discovered.
