A man in Missouri is facing multiple charges after he allegedly followed a woman home from a retail store and tried to kidnap her.

On the afternoon of October 15, a 30-year-old man was at a Target store in Springfield when he reportedly saw a woman enter the retailer with her 2-year-old child. According to reports, he thought the woman was “cute.” When she left, the man allegedly followed her to her apartment complex. The woman reported that she did not immediately notice anyone around her, but after she brought her groceries inside and returned to her vehicle for her son, she saw a man crouching behind a nearby car. She later told the authorities that she began screaming when the man approached her and tried to drag her away, and some of her neighbors heard the commotion. Two of them reported that they saw someone they believed was the suspect as he drove away in an SUV.

During the police investigation of the situation, they were able to get a clear view of the license plate when they reviewed surveillance footage. The same vehicle also made a stop at a gas station, and the recordings from their cameras showed enough of the driver to help them identify him.
