A woman was arrested after reportedly going to work instead of stopping to assist when she allegedly hit her coworker with her vehicle in the parking lot.

On September 7, a 67-year-old woman from New Orleans was running late for her shift at a nursing home in Slidell. When she got there, she entered the one-way cul-de-sac that surrounds the entrance of the building, and she saw an open parking spot behind her. When she backed up, she reportedly struck an individual later identified as one of her coworkers. According to reports, she went into the building and clocked in instead of helping the alleged victim, but she told other employees that the woman had fallen outside. Paramedics took the woman to a nearby hospital, where an examination of her injuries caused the doctors to believe that they were not caused by a fall. The authorities were notified, and officers from the Slidell Police Department went to the nursing home to investigate the scene.

They reviewed the surveillance footage, and the police reported that they saw the incident as it occurred. They also noted that the suspect picked up a piece of her car that was damaged, causing them to believe she “knew she struck a person and went as far as to remove evidence to cover her tracks.”
