Former MLB pitcher Matt Bush was arrested last week after allegedly driving under the influence and causing several cars to crash while reportedly trying to escape from the police.

38-year-old Matt Bush was a Major League Baseball player who was a pitcher for the Texas Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers. He has had several run-ins with the law since 2004, including DUI with great bodily injury in 2012 which resulted in a 51-month prison sentence. It was reported that he has struggled with alcoholism for many years.

On the evening of October 4, Bush was driving a Lincoln Aviator on the parkway in Arlington. Just before 8:30 PM, officers from the Arlington Police Department spotted the vehicle and believed it was being driven erratically. When they tried to perform a traffic stop, Bush reportedly increased his speed to try to get away. Within minutes, the authorities were notified about an accident that happened nearby. The police went to the scene, and they identified Bush as the driver who caused the crash, which involved three other vehicles. They reported that Bush failed to stop at a red light, causing him to smash into three cars that were idle at the traffic signal. Before the authorities arrived, it was reported that Bush tried to run away from the area, but others at the scene forced him to stay.
