A Florida man suspected of driving while intoxicated is facing charges after he allegedly told the police he drank several beers before getting behind the wheel.

Late in the evening on January 1, a 60-year-old man from Eustice was driving his Chevrolet Traverse locally when he was pulled over for allegedly failing to leave enough space between his truck and the vehicle in front of him. It was believed that he might be intoxicated, and an officer from the Florida Highway Patrol headed to the scene to assist.

When he arrived and interacted with the driver, who was reportedly slurring his words, he reported that he also smelled alcohol, which gave him the impression that the man had been drinking. He asked the man for his driver’s license, and things reportedly took an unusual turn. According to reports, instead of giving him the card, the man reached out and requested that the officer hold his hand. The driver also said he was not sure why he was pulled over. The officer asked whether the man had anything to drink before driving, and he allegedly said he had a few beers six to seven hours prior to getting in the vehicle.

Connecticut authorities have alleged that a woman they took into custody for suspicion of driving while intoxicated was the result of her drinking vanilla extract.

50-year-old Stefanie Warner-Grise was reportedly out in her vehicle on Wednesday when her car was seen stopped in the middle of an intersection.

Someone called 911 to report that they saw a woman with closed eyes behind the wheel, and the car was not in motion though it was sitting in the center of the road. When the authorities responded they reportedly discovered Warner-Grise was the driver of the automobile.
