A Macon County Sheriff’s deputy who had been with the department for nearly two years reportedly resigned earlier this month following an investigation tied to a traffic stop that led to a DUI arrest late last year.

According to the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy had been employed for less than two years at the time of the incident. He was placed on paid administrative leave shortly after the events that led to criminal and traffic charges and remained off duty while the matter was reviewed.

It was reported that the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on December 15, 2025, in the Forsyth area. A deputy on patrol allegedly observed a vehicle that appeared to be speeding on U.S. Route 51. Due to snow and ice-covered roads, the deputy reportedly chose not to immediately pursue the vehicle but continued driving in the same direction.

An Oregon man whose van got stuck in the snow is facing felony charges after he called for assistance and was allegedly caught with a teenage girl who had gone missing from home.

37-year-old Christopher Thomas Knox reportedly recently rented a van and allegedly took a trip to an area near the capital city of Washington, where he picked up the 13-year-old daughter of a mother with whom he was acquainted.

The pair allegedly went on the road together in the rental vehicle and were driving near the coastal town of Knappa, Oregon, just under 200 miles from the girl’s residence. While navigating through a mountainous area, the van became stuck as a result of the heavy snow that accompanied the recent storm system moving through the region.
