Men caught with 201 Pounds of Marijuana in Oregon en Route to Minnesota

During a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle traveling on I-5 in Oregon, a State Police officer uncovered 201 pounds of marijuana in the possession of two men in a rented Ford Explorer. The men were allegedly transporting the large stash to Minnesota.

According to investigators reports Shakopee, Minnesota, resident Pandy Hout and Lor Meng of Sacramento, California, traveled by plane out of Denver and landed in southern Oregon at the Rogue Valley International Airport. After renting an SUV they headed to an unknown site in California and acquired 201 pounds of marijuana. It is purported that they intended to transport the cannabis to Minnesota.

On the afternoon of October 18, Hout, the driver of the vehicle, was speeding which caused an Oregon highway patrolman to pull him over. The officer suspected illegal activity and performed a roadside investigation. He searched the interior of the SUV and discovered several bags containing a total of 201 pounds of marijuana.

Family Shattered When Father Is Killed By 18-Year-Old Drunk Driver

Anaheim resident Tarek Hamad was returning home to his pregnant wife and young child before dawn. As 34-year-old Hamad turned his car into the driveway of his apartment complex, he was plowed into by a drunk driver.

18-year-old Jorge Esteban Lunas Martinez was allegedly intoxicated and speeding when he lost control of his car, swerved into oncoming traffic and abruptly pulled into the driveway of the apartment complex where Hamed had just returned home. This caused Martinez to collide with the back of Hamad’s car, and the innocent victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hamed and his family moved to America a year ago and he was the sole wage-earner in his household. The sudden catastrophe of his death has left his children without a father, and his wife, who is due to give birth in one month, a young widow and single mother of two.

Woman Held At Gunpoint By Police During Childbirth

A woman went into labor on Tuesday morning and was given an emergency ride to the hospital by her husband. Because she had already given birth to three other children, the woman felt like the baby was going to come out immediately. They sped off toward the hospital with the woman screaming in pain with powerful contractions.

She attempted to contact 911 to notify authorities of the situation as her husband sped down the freeway at 85 MPH, but the dispatcher was unable to decipher her language since she was screaming in pain. That’s when a police officer spotted the vehicle speeding in a 55 MPH zone and gave chase with lights and sirens blaring.
