A man in Oregon is facing charges after allegedly stabbing his daughter’s boyfriend because he believed the man mistreated her.

On February 15, the 49-year-old father of a Lane County woman took a trip to visit his daughter in Springfield. The woman, who reportedly went through a domestic violence-related incident with her boyfriend a couple of weeks ago, gave her dad the key to her residence so he could hang out while she was at work. When she arrived at her apartment, her partner was there with her father.

According to reports, she saw the pair outside on the balcony, and their encounter appeared to be hostile. Her dad was presumably upset about the alleged incident that took place between the 27-year-old man and his daughter. Things reportedly escalated and turned violent, and the woman’s boyfriend was allegedly stabbed by her father. She reported that he lost so much blood that her apartment looked like a murder scene, and he was taken to McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center for medical treatment. It was reported that in addition to the stab wound, he had cuts on his face and arms, and two of his teeth were broken.

Two people, one of whom was a minor, were arrested last week after the police allegedly discovered a stolen gun and drugs when searching their vehicle during a traffic stop.

On February 14, detectives from the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit set out to find a 17-year-old young man with an active arrest warrant. Late in the afternoon, they tracked him down as he reportedly got into the driver seat of a vehicle with a male passenger. The driver pulled onto the road, and the authorities pulled over the vehicle. When they initiated contact with the men, the deputies detained the juvenile. The passenger was identified as a 21-year-old from Springfield, and when the detectives searched him, they reportedly found him with marijuana.

According to reports, the detectives also searched the car, and they uncovered a trove of illegal items. According to a release from the Springfield Police Department, they found a firearm that was loaded with 13 rounds of ammo. They later learned someone in New Hampshire reported a missing gun that was believed to be the one they found. Additionally, 175 candy bars containing psychedelic (magic) mushrooms, nearly one and a half ounces of marijuana, 15.5 Oxycodone pills, and $830 believed to be obtained from selling narcotics were found.

A man in Illinois with several prior DUIs was accused again of driving under the influence after he smashed his vehicle into four parked cars and allegedly tried to run from the scene afterward.

On the evening of April 28, a man from Springfield was driving a Tahoe in an area where cars were parked on the side of the road.  It was reported that he had his travels interrupted when he crashed into four of the parked automobiles. The man, who was arrested on April 22 for allegedly driving under the influence, does not have a valid driver’s license.

According to reports, several people saw the accident as it happened. When the man stepped out of the vehicle, he allegedly tried to flee on foot. The bystanders began chasing him while the police made their way to the scene of the crash.
