A barking dog was credited with helping to prevent a Florida man from allegedly trying to abduct a 3-year-old boy who was playing in the backyard of his foster family’s residence.

On the afternoon of December 27, a 3-year-old boy was playing in his backyard while his foster mother was inside the house. According to reports, a man who was walking past the St. Petersburg home opened the gate and approached the child. The stranger allegedly grabbed the toddler and tried to pick him up. The family dog began barking loudly, and the youngster’s foster mother went outside to see what caused it. She reportedly spotted the alleged intruder, and she was able to chase him away.

The authorities found out about the incident, and officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department located a man nearby that they believed was the suspect. He was identified as a 36-year-old local who is currently without permanent housing, and it was reported that he has been arrested multiple times since 2007. The police collected and reviewed surveillance video that reportedly showed the same individual going into the backyard where the youngster was playing. When talking to the authorities about the situation, the man allegedly told them that he was the person who went into the yard.

A man and woman from Indiana were arrested on several charges after the police allegedly found large amounts of drugs, paraphernalia, and cash in the home where they had a two-and-a-half-year-old child.

On June 26, someone called the authorities to report that they thought there were illegal drug-related activities going on in a residence in Seymour. Officers from the Seymour Police Department went to the address to check out the claim.

When they got there, the residents were home, and they began discussing the report with them. According to reports, while they were there, they allegedly noticed the scent of marijuana and believed it was coming from the home. They also saw a youngster inside playing with toys. They believed there was cause to inspect the residence, and they were granted a search warrant.

A California woman accused of making and sharing pornographic videos of the youngster she was hired to take care of was arrested on new charges for allegations that she also molested the girl.

On September 21, the Contra Costa County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a report from a social media company informing them that images that depicted the sexual abuse of a baby girl were uploaded to their server.

According to reports, the police discovered that the suspect was a woman from Antioch who was a part-time nanny to the 8-month-old girl in the images.

A reportedly intoxicated mother in West Virginia is facing charges after the police allegedly found her with a disabled youngster standing outside her vehicle near traffic on a busy street.

On June 28, a child’s legal guardian had to take her husband to a medical appointment, and she left the boy’s birth mother in charge of taking care of him while she was gone. The guardian reportedly made it clear that they were not to leave her McDowell County home in her absence.

Between midnight and 1:00 am, members of the Logan County Station volunteer fire department went to help a woman that accidentally locked her keys in the trunk of her car. When they arrived, they reported that they saw a child in a diaper and tee shirt standing outside the car. The youngster was allegedly close enough to the road that he could be hit by a moving vehicle.

Four people are facing charges after the authorities caught wind of a video posted on social media showing them playing with a child, and asserted that the youngster could be in danger based on the perceived roughness of the interaction.

At the end of May, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was notified by a concerned citizen who said they had seen a video on Snapchat depicting two men roughly handling a child.

After opening an investigation regarding the situation, the authorities reported that they discovered the video was also posted on Facebook.
