Teacher Arrested Over THC Candy Mix-Up in Class

A woman who teaches language arts at a Michigan high school is facing several charges after a couple of her students reportedly ate THC candy that she allegedly brought into the classroom.

According to reports, on the afternoon of November 13, an incident occurred during the last period at Angola High School that led to the teacher’s arrest. It began when two students in the classroom reportedly ate gummy candies that contained THC. The next day, the school resource deputy found out about the situation, and detectives from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office joined them in the investigation.

When they talked to the students who ate the candy, they said they saw it sitting out and thought it was regular candy. It was believed that the gummies were brought into the classroom by the teacher and that she was the one who had left them out in the open. The teacher was asked to go to the sheriff’s office to discuss the situation, and she agreed to meet them.

When she arrived, the authorities believed she was impaired when she drove there.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Steuben County Jail. She is facing multiple preliminary charges, including felony neglect of a dependent, felony possession of a controlled substance on school property, and misdemeanor operating a vehicle while intoxicated. At the time this was written, it was reported that she was still incarcerated in lieu of a $6,500 bond.

It was reported that several students wrote messages on social media showing their support for the teacher, who they said was the best one at the school. The sheriff’s office reported that the investigation is ongoing.
