Tenant Greeted Landlady With Bucket of Human Feces

When the landlady opened the door of one of her tenant’s trailers the renter allegedly hit her in the face with the contents of a bucket of excrement.

On Saturday afternoon, deputies were hailed to a trailer in Osteen, Florida, for reports of a messy altercation between a tenant and her landlord.

When the deputies arrived at the scene, they reported that the inside of the trailer and the landlord were entirely covered with waste that they suspected was human. The suspect, identified as 59-year-old Joanne Mercader, had feces on her face.

When they spoke with the victim the woman told the deputies that she went to the trailer that she rents to the suspect at a mutually agreed upon time so she could inspect broken items, and when she knocked at the door no one answered.

The alleged victim stated that she used her key and as she opened the door a bucket filled with poop was propelled at her face and left her drenched with the contents.

According to the affidavit, Mercader reportedly initially said that her landlady entered her residence illegally and wiped excrement on her face. She later allegedly changed her statement and said that she thought she had grabbed a bucket that was full of water instead of the one with the feces.

Two other people gave statements to the authorities and claimed they watched as the alleged victim was doused as she opened the door of the trailer.

Due to the allegations, Mercader is expected to face one felony charge for battery on a person 65 or older. She was booked into the Volusia County Jail and released the following day.
