TikTok Videos Led Police to Drug Trafficking Operation

Two people from Kentucky were arrested for drug trafficking after a long-term investigation allegedly revealed that they created videos of themselves making drugs and posted the content on their TikTok accounts.

Early this year, the authorities were notified about two people who might be involved in drug trafficking of marijuana. It was claimed that material was posted to their accounts on TikTok that appeared to depict them making products containing drugs. The reports resulted in the Kentucky State Police opening an investigation into the claims.

A couple of months later, an undercover drug sale was set up. A detective posing as a client made arrangements to meet the woman in the parking lot of a grocery store. When they met, the detective reported that she told them she had just made a sale for 1000 packages of products a few days prior to their current transaction.

The police used a GPS tracker that led them to a warehouse in Louisville and they obtained a search warrant. When they searched the location, they reportedly saw a section that appeared to be used for making edibles. They also came across four safes, and when they were opened, they allegedly found 218 pounds of marijuana inside.

Both suspects, who share the same last name but their connection to each other has not yet been made public, were taken into custody and booked into the Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections. The man is accused of trafficking marijuana, and the woman is facing preliminary charges of trafficking marijuana and possession of drugs/drug paraphernalia. According to jail records, the pair is still currently incarcerated.

The police estimated that the marijuana stash had a street value of $440,485.
