A Southern California man is facing charges after allegedly violently attacking at least five people within two hours.
According to reports, on the evening of October 21, a 28-year-old man spent nearly two hours running around Tustin engaging in criminal activity.
The alleged spree began around 8:50 PM when the suspect reportedly encountered an elderly woman and assaulted her before he ran off.
Someone nearby saw the incident as it happened, and they notified the authorities about the man’s purportedly random attack.
When the police arrived, they reported that the alleged victim and the suspect were no longer at the scene.
About an hour later, the police received a call from a woman reporting that a man had sexually assaulted her. She screamed and ran from her attacker before she was physically harmed. When she told the dispatcher what the man looked like, it was noted that his description seemed to match with the suspect from the prior incident.
Approximately 10 minutes later, a woman was leaving her apartment and getting into her automobile when a man reportedly approached. He allegedly tried to get into her vehicle, but she drove away and called 911 before he could climb inside. The description given of the man also matched that of the suspect wanted for the two alleged assaults.
15 minutes later, a security guard reported that a man assaulted him and tried to steal his radio. The alleged victim said the suspect, who was also reported as looking like the previous suspect, ran away after the encounter.
According to reports, within minutes, a woman who is 8 months pregnant called the police to tell them that a man approached her and punched her in the stomach. She was checked by paramedics, and the woman did not appear to have been injured.
The police were able to catch and detain the man before he was able to leave the area again.
The suspect was taken into custody, and he was booked into the Orange County Jail. He is facing charges for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, sexual assault, robbery, and attempted kidnapping. He is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
