A Texas woman was arrested after police said she allegedly threatened to kill her boyfriend while armed with two kitchen knives following a domestic dispute inside a residence.
According to investigators, officers responded to a reported family violence call during the evening of July 10. After speaking with those involved, police said they learned the couple had been arguing over a disagreement involving one of the woman’s friends before the confrontation escalated.
The boyfriend told officers the woman first threw her cellphone at him but missed. Police said she then allegedly began striking him repeatedly, and despite his attempts to push her away, she continued the assault. He later told investigators he tried to stop the attack by restraining her until she calmed down.
According to police, the situation became more serious after the woman broke free and went into the kitchen. Investigators alleged she returned holding two knives, moved toward the boyfriend while making cutting motions, and threatened to kill him.
The boyfriend told officers he picked up a rifle after seeing the knives but did not point the firearm at the woman, according to the investigation. Police said the woman then left the home with her children before officers arrived.
Investigators also reviewed cellphone video provided by the boyfriend that allegedly showed the woman approaching him with two knives while making the reported death threat. Police said the woman denied confronting him with the weapons, but investigators stated the video did not support her account. Officers also reported they did not observe visible injuries after she claimed she had been struck during the altercation.
The woman was arrested several days later and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and she was being held in the county jail on a $40,000 bond.
