A Florida woman was taken into custody for allegations of child abuse for two separate incidents on Thanksgiving and the following day.
31-year-old Tomasina Frate lives in Milton, Florida.
On Thanksgiving, Frate and her family gathered at her home for a pool party.
According to the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office, the authorities were notified about a situation at Frate’s home involving a child who was being abused.
Deputies went to the home, and they reportedly learned that Frate was involved in an incident involving children at the poolside.
Frate reportedly thought one of the kids got pushed into the pool, and the woman allegedly grabbed the girl she believed was responsible for the act. Frate reportedly started beating the girl with her fists while she slammed the child’s head onto the ground.
When the police collected statements from the people at the party, it was reported that Frate also threatened to shoot herself in front of the guests.
Frate was taken into custody and booked into the county jail on a $2,500 bond.
On Friday, Frate’s husband paid her ordered bond, and she was released from custody.
Florida Department of Children and Families became involved in the investigation, and they went to Frate’s home. They allegedly discovered video evidence of another instance of child abuse that reportedly took place on November 22.
DCF gave the police a copy of the video, and it was reported that it depicted Frate gripping a young girl by the hair and punching her. The police believe that the incident occurred because Frate became angry that the child moved a kitchen appliance.
Frate was arrested and booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail a second time. She is charged with two counts of child abuse and two counts of battery.
