A woman in California allegedly spent nearly a year hosting parties in her home where she provided alcohol and encouraging sex between underage teens.
47-year-old Shannon O’Connor resided in Los Gatos, California, and she is the mother of a teenage son. It is reported that she now lives in Idaho.
Starting in June 2020, O’Connor allegedly started to throw parties for her son with 14 and 15-year-old teens on the guest list.
The teenagers at the alleged social gatherings were reportedly encouraged not to tell anyone about the events or activities taking place.
O’Connor allegedly spent nearly a year as the hostess of the parties, and she reportedly gave the kids access to alcohol. She additionally reportedly encouraged sexual behavior between them and gave them condoms when needed. If they became too intoxicated, O’Connor allegedly told them not to tell their parents so that she wouldn’t get into legal trouble.
Several of the teenagers were allegedly sexually assaulted while they were at the parties. One girl reported that she was raped while O’Connor was present, and said that the woman encouraged the assault.
The 14-year-old said that she was laying on a bed in O’Connor’s home during a party where many of the attendees were drunk. O’Connor allegedly handed a boy a condom and pushed him into the bedroom with the young girl.
Another underage girl reported that once when she was in the bathroom, O’Connor was aware that a boy had entered and sexually assaulted her.
Some of the teenagers said that O’Connor would watch and laugh while they were raped in her home.
O’Connor is facing 39 criminal counts, including felony child abuse, sexual assault, and furnishing alcohol to underage people.
