Woman Shoved and Bullied Child at Water Park

A Michigan woman is facing charges for allegedly shoving a child off a pool toy and calling him names last weekend at a water park.

On the afternoon of July 27, a woman visiting the Cedar Point Shores Waterpark in Sandusky was near the kids’ pool when she reportedly had a negative interaction with a child in front of other guests.

According to reports, the woman knocked a child off a pool toy and spoke inappropriately to the boy by calling him “fat ass” and “a brat.” When his mother became aware of the incident, she got angry and told the woman she owed her son an apology.

Around 5:00 PM, the Sandusky Police Department received a report about a situation at the water park involving possible disorderly conduct. When officers arrived, they talked to as many people as they could who reported that they saw the encounter between the woman and child in the pool.

When they spoke to the woman accused of the misconduct, she copped to calling the little boy a brat but said that as a Christian grandmother, she would not put her hands on a child. The police did not arrest her, but they asked her for identification. She provided a name, address, and phone number, and the officers left the park.

The police checked the details they were given, and they reported that there was no record of any individual with the name and the information supplied by the woman. They went back to the water park to find out what was going on.

It was reported that the woman eventually provided her identity, and she was cooperative when she was detained.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Erie County Jail. She is facing charges on suspicion of misdemeanor obstruction of official business.
